Attorney and Mediator
Attorney Maria N. Berger has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 2000.
She has been practicing in Ogle and the surrounding counties for over 20 years. Attorney Berger has handled hundreds of family disputes, including divorces, allocation of parenting responsibilities (formerly custody and visitation), child support, and Orders of Protection. Also an experienced Guardian Ad Litem and Mediator, Attorney Berger brings a unique problem-solving approach to all of the cases she handles.
Her practice includes Real Estate, Estate Planning/Probate, Business Law, and General Civil Litigation.
Attorney Berger served as President of the Ogle County Bar Association from 2015 - 2023. She is active in the Illinois State Bar Association, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board for the Illinois Bar Journal from 2014-2016.
She received her J.D. in 1999 from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif and Summa Cum Laude, 3rd in her class.
Maria is also a court-approved mediator, and mediates family, business, personal injury and other civil disputes.
Maria speaks Spanish, and is happy to work with Spanish-speaking clients and offers Mediations and GAL services in Spanish.
